Yes, our tours are perfect for all types of travelers, however we do require a minimum of 2 people in order to run a tour. If you are the only guest booked for a tour date we will contact you 24hrs before the tour is scheduled to start, to either offer you any alternative dates available or a full refund.
Water is included throughout your tour (starting with a cold bottle immediately at our meeting spot and ready and waiting on each restaurant table for you), in addition a shot of the local liquor ‘rakija’ is included. For those of you who would like something more, you are welcome to purchase directly from our food partners, where they are very knowledgeable in guiding you with the perfect pairing.
Yes, tickets must be purchased in advance as food orders need to be placed with our partners in advance. Also, our tours do tend to sell out quickly, so in order to maximize your chances of securing your desired date and number of spots, try to book as far in advance as possible.
Yes, sometimes people do need to change their dates or cancel unexpectedly. If the tour date you desire is fully booked, you can add yourself onto the wait list, that way if any spaces open up you will be automatically notified.
Yes, tickets are required for children over 5 years old. Children 5 and under, who sit on a parents lap (in the case of a full tour) and who eat from a parent’s plate, do not require a ticket. If you have any children (under 18) with you in your group, please let us know in advance so that we can substitute their shot of rakija with a non-alcoholic drink, and so that we can prepare a treat bag (full of Croatian goodies) as a parting gift.
Our tours run rain or shine, so please be sure to check the weather and plan to bring appropriate footwear (high-heels not recommended), a hat and/or sunscreen or a warm coat and/or umbrella accordingly.
Yes, there is a company that we recommend for luggage storage in Split. For only 5 euros per item BOUNCE will safely store your luggage (for up to 24hrs). They have numerous locations throughout Split, but for the convenience of our tour we recommend the ‘RIVA’ location.
Our tours take place across 5 different food establishments, and they are very generous portion sizes, rather than entire meals. However, you will definitely feel like you’ve eaten at least a full meal by the end, so make sure to arrive hungry!
If you have certain dietary restrictions, allergies or dislikes there is a spot to indicate, when booking. It may be that guests with special diets will need to pass on certain tastings, although we will always do our absolute best to offer suitable substitutions. If you have any specific diet concerns, not mentioned here, please feel free to contact us.
Note: Our tour contains no nuts and can easily accommodate shellfish allergies, pescatarian, lactose-free and gluten-free diets. Although we can provide vegetarian dishes our tour is not ideally recommended for vegetarians, as we focus on showcasing the very best of authentic Croatian cuisine. We are unable to cater to vegan diets.
Sorry, due to health restrictions, we are limited to service animals with official licensing only.
The tour is approximately 4 hours and covers roughly 3/4 of a mile (1.2km) of walking at a leisurely pace. Fortunately the old town isn’t too big and all of our stops are located close to each other. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to sit down multiple times, at our food establishments.
Parking can be tricky in old-town Split, but luckily most locations are quite accessible by foot. If you do need to park your vehicle, we suggest that you use Parking at the railways station ‘Željeznička stanica’ which is only a 5 minute, flat and easy, walk away from our meeting location at the ‘SPLIT Sign’. There is also some free street parking in the nearby neighborhoods, but it can take a while to find, be a bit of a hike in and is limited (especially in the high season).
Our tours finish on the RIVA (Split’s main promenade) a 2 minute straight walk from our start location. If you need to return to the start location, don’t worry, your guide will be happy to point you in the right direction.
Our tours start on the RIVA (Split’s main waterfront promenade) which is only a 10-15 minute, flat and easy, walk away from where the cruise ships dock in Split.
Technically no, unfortunately the roman emperor Diocletian did not have this in mind when he built his palace, BUT if you need extra assistance and would still like to join a tour, our guides will do their best to physically assist you or provide an alternate route.
No, but if you enjoyed your tour gratuities are always appreciated by your guide. We take care of tipping the restaurant staff on your behalf, so there is no need to tip at each individual food establishment.
Our public tours are currently offered in English, and we can also provide private tours in Croatian. If you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join a private tour, please contact us to inquire.
